GVFD Technical Rescue Team

The Green Valley Fire District Technical Rescue Team (GVFD TRT) is comprised of six technical rescue technicians who have completed a minimum of 200 hours in technical rescue disciplines, a Battalion Chief who oversees training and another Battalion Chief is in charge of special operations.
GVFD TRT specializes in 5 disciplines of technical rescue
- Rope Rescue (Low to High Angle)
- Confined Space Rescue
- Trench Rescue
- Water Rescue (Swift and Still Water)
- Structural Collapse
The team is continually challenged with an array of scenarios such as mines, caves, rugged mountains, monsoon flooding, building construction and monthly drills. Other area teams and organizations we work and train with include:
- Drexel Heights Fire District
- Rincon Valley Fire District
- Northwest Fire District
- Tubac Fire District
- Rural/Metro Fire Department
- Pima County Sheriffs Office
- U.S. Border Patrol
